Akshaya Tritiya is one of the most auspicious occasions for Hindus and is synonymous with buying gold. Akshaya Tritiya, also known as Akti or Akha Teej, falls on the third lunar day of Shukla Paksha of Vaisakha month. The day marks the birthday of Lord Parshuram, who is the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It is also believed that on this day Lord Ganesha began to write Mahabharata. In Sanskrit, the word “Akshaya” means “never diminishing” i. e. believed to bring good luck and success. As per the legends, you will be blessed if you do charity on this day. It is believed that buying gold on this day is an auspicious sign any initiative taken on this day such as a business or the construction of a building, investment or anything bought on this day, will be followed by prosperity.
